My Move to Campbell River

I moved to Campbell River in January for work. So, since I'm coming up on my sixth month living in here in Campbell River in a couple weeks, I thought I'd share my impression of things so far.

Of course, when I first arrived here mid-January, I was immediately struck with the natural beauty of the area. As we've moved from winter to spring and now into summer, my appreciation for the scenery has grown even more. I don't believe it's a stretch to say that few Canadian communities offer the combination of picturesque views and the mild weather that Campbell River does.

Of course, communities aren't just geographic landscapes or points on a map. Communities are made up of people. And, I'm happy to say that the people I have had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know have not disappointed either. Campbell River residents are happy to be here and it shows. There's a zest for life and genuine warmth in the people here that has truly made the city endearing. After only a short six months of being here, I can't imagine living anywhere else.

As I mentioned, I moved here for work so I don't want to leave out the company I work for and the people I work with, as they have been a big part of how I feel about this place. I've spent most of my adult life in the real estate industry in one aspect or another. So an opportunity to work in my chosen field on Vancouver Island was too good to pass up. But, you and I know that not every opportunity looks as good in hindsight as it appeared to beforehand. Fortunately for me this isn't the case. Since starting with Veyron Properties in January, I have become more and more impressed with the vision and commitment to excellence demonstrated by the company's owner, Brett Giese. His drive to provide our tenants with superior quality, security and sense of community has allowed me to take real pride in working for the company. The team of professionals I get to work with every day share Brett's vision and sense of responsibility for our tenants as well and I honestly feel blessed to be part of it!

I hope to be a permanent part of of the Campbell River and Veyron communities for many years to come.
